It’s all well and good to talk about B2B content marketing and creating great content but the best thing to do is let is speak for itself. So here are 5 examples of particularly good B2B content marketing.

1. Youtube: Hootesuite

Hootesuite is a social media dashboard aimed at getting businesses thinking “socially” by allowing them to manage multiple social networks with a single interface and monitor their online presence with analytics.

In this video they look at the importance of social networking in B2B marketing. They include testimonials from highly accomplished businesses, including Richard Branson of Virgin Group – if a good word from him doesn’t convince you, what will?

2. Pinterest: HubSpot

It seems obvious that an online marketing company like HubSpot would have mastered B2B content marketing – but the fact of the matter is, it’s still a great endorsement of their skills. If they produced poor content on Pinterest, you would start doubting their online marketing abilities all together. So what do we learn from this? Stick with what you’re good at.

How Hubspot did this was by filling their profile with links to their blog, webinars, templates to use on their sight, testimonials from clients and lighter-hearted content like collecting marketing campaigns and showing “Behind the Scenes”.

3. YouTube: GoogleBusiness

Again, you would be worried if Google made a bad YouTube video – but it shows you how they are making their content work for them. Based on a study they conducted into B2B Customers in this video Google are pushing for businesses to take their B2B marketing online by convincing them that online is where they need to be to stay ahead.

This video is purely informative, made up of text and basic images – like a moving infographic. But all this information is presented well, it’s clear, interesting and it all flows well together.

 4. Twitter: GoToMeeting

GoToMeeting are a great example of how B2B content marketing doesn’t just mean sharing your own content. Talking about meetings all the time could get very boring very quickly, so GoToMeeting generally talk about working together and working better.

This is a great way to stay active in your client’s Twitter feed and stay interesting.

 5. Blogs: Cisco

Cisco are a very good example of a company in a highly technical industry making clear, accessible content. Instead of focusing on technical jargon, through their Blogs and Videos they share their interest in technology and the Internet while always linking it back to their services.

Not all the content from a company blog needs to be self-promotion, but knowing your competition and your place in the market can go a long way towards conveying to clients your knowledge of your industry.
